Welcome to our new account coordinator, Kassidy Gorman!

One of the questions we get a lot from clients and prospective hires alike is, “What’s the environment like at 3Points?” The short answer: collaborative. Our team works together on projects big and small to help clients succeed and move 3Points forward. We work hard individually, but always know that we can rely on each other, because we’re all working toward the same goals.

Our second full-time hire of the year has a lot of experience with being part of a team, as a former member of Northwestern University’s women’s soccer team. Kassidy Gorman, a recent Northwestern alum, just started at 3Points as an account coordinator a couple weeks ago, but she is already contributing a great deal to our collaborative team. Learn a little more about Kassidy in our Q&A with her, below.

What do you enjoy most about PR, and what drew you to 3Points?

I enjoy how many different aspects are under the PR umbrella. From writing blogs to pitching clients to strategizing, every day is different, and there’s always something new to be learned or skills to be sharpened. Initially, I was drawn to 3Points because it presented a unique opportunity for me to dive into the PR industry while collaborating with dedicated professionals in a fun, yet challenging, environment. As a new member of the team, I’ve already found that was, in fact, true.

What are you looking forward to learning here?

I’m looking forward to learning the ins and outs of PR and seeing firsthand how the 3Points team has established itself as PR pros in such a competitive space.

What was the best class you took at Northwestern?

My favorite class at Northwestern was a Strategic Communications course that I took my senior year. Both professors of the course shared a wealth of knowledge and were passionate about the topic. Throughout this course, I was exposed to numerous forms of communication, which helped me further develop my writing skills.

How did playing on the soccer team shape your experience at Northwestern?

Playing soccer shaped my college experience in the best ways. It taught me the value of work ethic and of being a team player, as well as the importance of perseverance.

You played a few different positions in your career — what was your favorite, and why?

My favorite was outside defender. Playing this position continually tested my ability to make decisions and stay composed under pressure. That’s something that I think is very important. Not allowing stress to impact your decisions and having the confidence to carry them out are skills that I developed as a defender and want to continue to develop in the future.

You’re originally from Orange County — what made you want to stick around Chicago after graduation?

The city. I love its lively atmosphere, beautiful architecture and views, and endless food choices. I’ve been here for the past four years and haven’t been able to explore all of Chicago’s hidden gems yet. Despite the cold winters, this magnificent city seemed like the perfect place to start my career and life post-grad.
